LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Citibus will launch Phase One of its approved 5-Year Service Plan on Monday, Sept. 28, introducing one new route and three redesigned routes across the city. The plan was adopted in November 2024.
The changes are designed to improve connections to neighborhoods, jobs, schools, healthcare and shopping.
New and redesigned routes
Route 205 (Pink) is a new route extending from North Indiana through Texas Tech University and Covenant to South Quaker and 122nd Street, expanding service to South Lubbock.
Route 025 (Purple), formerly Route 6, has been redesigned to better connect Parkway Drive, Dunbar, 50th Street and South Plains Mall.
Route 211 (Green) has been redesigned to connect Cherry Point to West End via 4th Street with improved connectivity.
Route 214 (Red) links Sunrise Canyon, 19th Street and West End with a more direct travel option.

Citibus will host a series of community education events ahead of the Sept. 28 launch. Attendees can meet the Citibus team, explore new route maps, ask questions and receive personalized trip-planning assistance.
