A Tarrant County woman died on Saturday after a riding lawnmower overturned into a creek, according to Tarrant County Sheriff’s Deputies.

MANSFIELD, Texas — A 56-year-old Tarrant County woman died on Saturday after a riding lawnmower overturned into a creek, pinning her underneath, officials said. 

Tarrant County deputies responded around 5:10 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 1, to the 100 block of Willow Creek Circle to investigate a death at a residence, the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office said in a press release. 

Investigators found that a riding lawnmower had overturned into a creek, trapping a woman underneath, officials said. The victim, later identified as Krista Thompson, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the release. 

The victim’s husband attempted to free her before the deputies’ arrival, officials said. 

The Tarrant County Sheriff’s Criminal Investigations Division is investigating the incident. At this time, foul play is not suspected, the release states. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner is working to determine the official cause of death.
