A 56-year-old Tarrant County woman was killed when the lawnmower she was riding overturned into a creek on Saturday, officials said.
The woman who died was identified as Krista Thompson by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Deputies responded about 5 p.m. Aug. 1 to a home in the 100 block of Willow Creek Circle to investigate the fatality, the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release on Monday.
Investigators determined that Thompson was trapped underneath the lawnmower when it overturned in the water, according to the release.
When deputies arrived at the home in southeast Tarrant County, they found Thompson, whose husband had attempted to free her. She was pronounced dead at the scene, the Sheriff’s Office said.
Investigators are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident, but foul play is not suspected, the release stated.
