Police on Tuesday announced the arrests of two 21-year-old men in connection with a triple homicide in May at a West Dallas short-term rental home.
Atravion Smith and Dekamen Greene were both arrested by the U.S. Marshals North Texas Fugitive Task Force last month, according to a Tuesday statement.
Smith was booked into the Dallas County jail on July 23 and faces capital murder by terroristic threat and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charges, according to jail records. His bail is set at $1.5 million.
Greene was booked on July 17 and faces the same charges, jail records show. His bail was set at $300,000 as of Tuesday afternoon.
As of Tuesday, McGriff remains in the Dallas County jail with bail set at $1.3 million, according to jail records. He faces aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and capital murder by terroristic threat charges, along with three additional charges for unrelated incidents out of Duncanville and Glenn Heights.
Officers responded to reports of a shooting on May 26 shortly before 12:20 a.m. in the 3700 block of Vilbig Road, where they found three people suffering from gunshot wounds inside a house being used as a short-term rental, according to McGriff’s arrest warrant affidavit.
Cooper and Griffin were pronounced dead at 12:38 a.m. at the scene. Dallas Fire-Rescue personnel took Scott to Parkland Memorial Hospital, where she died at 12:57 a.m., according to the affidavit.
A fourth person was taken to the hospital in a private vehicle and was expected to recover, police said.
According to the affidavit, investigators were able to place McGriff at the location of the shooting using call data records from his phone and three witness accounts.
No further information on the investigation was immediately available.
