Habitat Plants + Coffee is now open in West Plano, open 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

McKinney-original Habitat Plants + Coffee opened a Plano location at Preston Towne Crossing recently.

For plants, Habitat sells 4- and 6-inch live plants, pots and accessories. Best sellers include snake plants, which start at $14, and stromanthe, which start at $24.

“A second location in Plano just felt natural – I was born and raised here and moved from McKinney about a year ago,” owner Karina Velez said. “I’m so excited to be able to serve this amazing new community!”

The coffee portion of the shop features typical coffee house offerings, plus signature drinks like the Natural Habitat Latte (latte with honey, vanilla and cinnamon for $6.25) or seasonal drinks like the Sandy Cheeks Latte, which is salted honey peanut butter served ice or hot.  All syrups and cold foams are made in-house.

” In my opinion, every home needs a pothos and at least one snake plant. You can’t go wrong with those if you’re a first-time plant parent. Go-to drinks are a bit more complicated… if you’re a matcha person, you should definitely try either our Moon Mist Matcha or our Dirty Berry,” Velez said. “If you’re a coffee drinker, I would try our single-origin espresso for sure! We are one of the few shops in DFW that offer single-origin espresso, and it’s delicious, very unique. You also can’t go wrong with any of our signature drinks, but the Natural Habitat is a cult favorite.”

Habitat Plants + Coffee is located at 4817 W. Park Blvd., Suite 815.
