SAN ANTONIO – The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office has confirmed that skeletal remains discovered near Concepcion Park last month are those of 7-month-old Ozana Cisneros, the infant at the center of a statewide search.
The remains were found on the night of July 10, hours after Ozana’s mother, 19-year-old Maximina Cisneros, was rescued from a vacant home near the park.

At the time, investigators had not confirmed whether the remains were human or connected to the missing infant. The Bexar County Medical Examiner has now positively identified the remains as Ozana’s. Her cause and manner of death has not been released at this time.
The Texas Department of Public Safety discontinued the Amber Alert for Ozana on July 13.
The infant was last seen by family members on June 10 at a home off Roosevelt Avenue near Lowell Street. Authorities said she was last seen with her mother, who had not been seen since July 3 before she was found by officers and federal agents inside the abandoned home.
During the investigation, the mother’s boyfriend, Isaiah Lopez, was arrested on an unrelated charge after police said he attempted to flee from officers. Authorities also found a firearm during his arrest. Lopez was booked on an outstanding warrant and an additional gun-related charge.
At this time, no arrests have been made in the death of baby Ozana.
