The Rangers didn’t make any big additions on trade deadline day, but they did address a key need a week earlier in acquiring Chase Silseth.
“Just shock. In this business, anything can happen at any point in time, but when it does it’s a shock,” Silseth said. “When I heard the Rangers, I got really excited. The fans, every time we came here to play, it was electric. So just knowing that part of it was great.
“If anything, it just fires guys up more. It’s one of those things where, it happens, and you just accept it. It’s tough to hear people’s names [being mentioned in talks] but you just control what you can control.”
Silseth shouldn’t have too difficult of a transition to the organization if he can put up more zeroes. It also helps that his significant other was on board with the trade.
“I’ve got some family here in Texas, and my fiancee is a big Rangers fan, so when I told her on the phone she was jumping for joy. I hope we can get on the winning track here,” Silseth said
