Is Trader Joe’s ready to open another store in Fort Worth?
The grocery chain with an active fan base has applied for an alcohol-related permit in the city, according to a record. It’s for beer and wine at the site for what’s called “trader joe” and “trader joe’s #414,” the filing shows.
The site is at 9000 N. City Drive on the more northern part of Fort Worth.
Nakia Rohde, a spokesperson for Trader Joe’s, said the company doesn’t have any details to confirm for a new store in the area.
“We are actively looking at hundreds of neighborhoods across the country, including in Fort Worth, as we hope to open more new neighborhood stores each year,” Rohde said. Today, Trader Joe’s has one store in Fort Worth at 2701 S. Hulen St., which is in the more southwestern part of the city.
Trader Joe’s is investing in the Dallas-Fort Worth area as customers head to the stores for its smaller format with a portion of the shops that are stacked with beer and wine. The company is planning a new store in Frisco, which received the green light from the Planning and Zoning Commission last month.
