LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – We’re looking at a persistent heat pattern, high clouds drifting southeast from storms in New Mexico may occasionally filter the sky through Wednesday morning, but overall conditions will remain hot and dry.
Hot temperatures show no signs of letting up this week, with upper 90s expected to continue through the weekend and into early next week across the area.

Temperatures will remain just below Heat Advisory levels, in the low 100s, off the Caprock. Southerly winds will occasionally pick up during afternoon hours, while mostly clear skies will prevail through midweek.

The pattern remains consistent through Wednesday, with no significant changes expected to the forecast. A cold front currently positioned over the northern Texas Panhandle is expected to stall and meander north of Interstate 40 through Wednesday, keeping the region under warm conditions.

Models have backed off on precipitation chances for the weekend, with most of the region expected to remain dry. However, there is a slight chance of thunderstorms Friday evening in the northern portion of the viewing area.
