UNO is bringing game night to Dan Electro’s in the Heights — and it’s free

  • August 6, 2026

HOUSTON – Houston, consider this your official permission slip to relive the best kind of argument: who forgot to say “UNO”?

Mattel is bringing its UNO Social Club pop‑up to Dan Electro’s in the Houston Heights on Thursday, Aug. 6, with a planned 6–9 p.m. run time. The company describes the Social Clubs as an upgraded game night built around classic UNO play—plus music, surprises and a chance to score exclusive swag.

The Houston stop is part of a bigger expansion for the long-running card game. Mattel says the Social Clubs are returning after last year’s debut and growing into a 14-city run: five U.S. stops and nine international destinations.

“At the heart of UNO is a simple truth: play brings people together,” said Katie Buford, Vice President and Global Head of Mattel Games.

UNO Social Club (Mattel)What to expect at the Houston event

Think less “quiet card table” and more “night out with a deck.” According to the announcement, each Social Club mixes the familiar rules with an in‑person party vibe—local DJs and MCs are part of the experience, and fans can compete for exclusive prizes, including branded merchandise and UNO product packs.

How to go (and what to know before you show up)

Mattel is encouraging fans to RSVP in advance through its UNO Social Club webpage to help estimate the crowd, but the company notes that an RSVP doesn’t guarantee entry. Admission is free, and entry is first‑come, first‑served based on venue capacity.

UNO’s summer tour — Houston is one of the highlights

The U.S. tour includes stops in Philadelphia, Brooklyn, Miami, Houston and Los Angeles. Internationally, Mattel says UNO Social Clubs will also pop up in Barcelona, Berlin, London, Mexico City, Paris, Rio de Janeiro, Sydney, Tokyo and Toronto.

UNO has been around for more than 50 years, and Mattel says the Social Clubs are one more way the game is evolving with longtime fans—especially those who want a reason to get out of the group chat and into the real world.
