Young boy remains in critical condition after nearly drowning at community pool

SAN ANTONIO – A young boy is fighting for his life after nearly drowning in a community pool.

Around 7:20 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 5, deputies with the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office responded to calls of a reported drowning at a residential community pool near the corner of Turquoise Sky and Wilderness Oaks, on the far North Side.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the young juvenile was found unresponsive in the water and was pulled from the pool.

Deputies arrived on the scene and began performing life-saving measures until EMS arrived.

The child was then transported to a local hospital for treatment. At this time, the young juvenile male remains in critical condition.

Deputies are still investigating the incident. At this time, no arrests have been made in connection with the near drowning.
