LUBBOCK (TxDOT) – The Texas Department of Transportation is scheduled to make road repairs to FM 179, from 4th Street to 19th Street in Lubbock, starting next week. Phase 1 operations to mill and resurface the segment of FM 179, from 19th Street to 10th Street, are scheduled to take place Tuesday through Thursday (Aug. 11-13). Phase 2 repairs, from 10th Street to 4th Street, are scheduled for Aug. 17-18.
FM 179 will be closed to traffic during operations, but will reopen between the two phases. Drivers will need to seek an alternate route. Messages boards are in place alerting drivers of the planned work.
The operations will take place weather permitting.
