The findings revealed Texas bested rivals California and Florida as home to the most movers during the first half of 2026, welcoming an estimated 512,503 moves.
As for the hottest ZIP codes in America? Well, everything is, in fact, bigger in Texas, with eight of the Top 10 spots belonging to the Lone Star State.
The No. 1 ZIP code in America belonged to none other than New Braunfels, with its total move count amounting to almost 3,000 new moves as the city establishes its dominance in Central Texas.
“Positioned between Austin and San Antonio, the city has become a major destination for families and relocating households seeking newer housing, more space, and a lower cost of living compared with nearby urban markets,” Moving Place’s report read in part. “Strong population growth, expanding infrastructure, and a steady pipeline of residential development continue to drive demand.”
The North Texas hub, McKinney, nabbed the No. 2 spot amid its continual growth in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, attracting an estimated 2,820 new moves so far this year. The secret sauce behind its success? A combination of highly rated schools, major employment centers and ample housing supply, per Moving Place’s findings.
Rounding out the Top 3 is the North Austin suburb of Leander, with its roughly 2,712 new moves emblematic of the Texas capital area’s consistent growth and widespread appeal. Zeroing in on Leander, Moving Place gave specific kudos to community’s “attainable housing options” and outdoor recreation sites, coupled with its proximity to the Capital City and its employment centers.
“Expanding neighborhoods and continued infrastructure investment have helped make Leander one of Central Texas’ most prominent growth markets,” Moving Place noted.
Not to be outdone, the Alamo City cracked the Top 10 at the last spot.
