The Medical Examiner’s Office identified the 40-year-old victim after he died from injuries suffered in the stabbing. Police continue investigating.
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A man who was critically injured in a stabbing on July 30 in Corpus Christi has died. Nueces County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified him as Jose Medina, 40.
Officials said Medina’s family has been notified.

The stabbing happened around 7:34 p.m. in the 2900 block of Buford Avenue, according to the Corpus Christi Police Department.
When officers arrived, they found Medina suffering from serious injuries and began providing first aid until paramedics arrived. He was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he later died.
Police detained a suspect and several witnesses at the scene before detectives with the department’s Robbery/Homicide Division took over the investigation.
Investigators said a disturbance occurred before the stabbing and arrested Eric Guajardo, 40, charging him with aggravated assault. Police previously said the suspect and victim knew each other.
With Medina’s death, it was not immediately clear Friday morning whether Guajardo will face upgraded charges.
The investigation remains ongoing.
