CIUDAD JUAREZ, MEXICO (KFOX14/CBS4) — A kidnapping and homicide investigation in Ciudad Juárez led authorities to an unexpected discovery: a Bengal tiger kept inside a cage, according to KINT.

Mexican state and federal authorities said officials were searching as part of an investigation into a kidnapping and homicide believed to have happened between July 31 and Aug. 1 when they found the tiger.

A lizard and four dogs were also found at the location.

Mexico’s environmental protection agency is now caring for the animals.

No other information was provided.
