From time to time, Taylor Sheridan moves from behind the camera to in front of it.
The Fort Worth-raised creator actually got his start as an actor, appearing in episodes of “Walker, Texas Ranger,” “NYPD Blue” and more. His lengthiest role came in “Sons of Anarchy,” where he appeared in 21 episodes over three seasons.
In the mid-2010s, Sheridan moved behind the camera and worked as a screenwriter, penning films like “Sicario” and “Hell or High Water.” He also turned to directing, first on “Wind River,” and then on “Yellowstone” and several other Paramount+ shows that he created.

In 2016, Sheridan appeared as “Cowboy” in “Hell or High Water.”
He played another cowboy, named Travis Wheatley, in 18 episodes of “Yellowstone” across four seasons. Travis is a horse trainer that works out of Bosque Ranch, which is Sheridan’s actual ranch that he owns in Weatherford.

In 2022, he appeared in two episodes of “Yellowstone” prequel “1883” as Charles Goodnight, an actual Texas rancher that lived during the time of the show.
Finally, Sheridan has appeared in four episodes of “Lioness” as Cody Spears, an operator that teams up with the main crew on occasion. Sheridan began the role in season 2 and reprised it in the season 3 premiere, which recently released.
