One person was killed, and two others were injured in a rollover crash near downtown Fort Worth late Friday, Aug. 7, police say.

A driver was killed and two passengers were injured in a rollover crash near downtown Fort Worth late Friday night, officials said.

Officers were dispatched to the major accident about 11:10 p.m. According to Fort Worth Police, a red Toyota headed northbound on Interstate 35W took the exit to Spur 280 too fast and hit the retaining wall.

The vehicle rolled over the wall, and the driver was ejected. The woman died at the scene, according to Fort Worth Fire EMS. Another woman riding in the vehicle was medically evaluated at the scene, and a man was taken to a local hospital in stable condition.

The Traffic Investigation Unit is looking into the cause of the crash. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner will publicly identify the person who died pending notification of next of kin.
