EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — Two men are facing felony charges after they were arrested on Friday for allegedly dumping construction debris in the desert in Far East El Paso County.
According to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, Jose Alarcon, 18, and Aldo Chairez Rodriguez, 25, were arrested and charged with illegal dumping of greater than 1,000 pounds or greater than 200 cubic feet after deputies received a call regarding a blue GMC pickup truck dumping construction debris in a deserted area at the 13400 block of Frankie Lane, near the Montana Power Plant.
Deputies made contact with Alarcon and Rodriguez and determined that the two had allegedly dumped approximately 413 cubic feet of debris, which they said upgrades the misdemeanor to a felony.
To give you some perspective on how much debris that is, it’s a little over what a 10ft. U-Haul moving truck can hold in its cargo space.

Jail records show Alarcon and Rodriguez were both booked into the El Paso County Downtown Jail, Alarcon on Friday, Rodriguez on Saturday– both under a $1,500 bond.
According to jail records, both men were released from jail on Saturday after posting a surety bond.
