Reliever David Morgan took a significant step toward returning from the injured list, recording four outs in his latest rehab appearance in Triple-A El Paso’s 9-5 win on Saturday at Reno.
Morgan struck out two and allowed two hits. He is rehabbing left knee inflammation, which has — combined with trap tightness — sidelined him since his last appearance in the majors on June 27.
Saturday was Morgan’s fourth rehab appearance.
Ethan Salas (1.034 OPS) served as the DH and went 1-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and a run scored.
Right fielder Bryce Johnson (.745 OPS) drove in two runs on three hits, including a double.
Center fielder Dustin Harris (.968 OPS) went 2-for-4 with a triple, an RBI, a walk and a run scored.
El Paso is 46-66.

LF Alex Conover (.950 OPS) doubled in two runs and 2B Jose Verdugo (.683 OPS) went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored.
