Lakeside police are asking for the public’s help in locating two individuals wanted for child endangerment charges after four children under the age of 10 tested positive for fentanyl.
The suspects were identified as Auston Patrick Green and Cindy Cristina Chevez Batres, Lakeside police said in a social media post.
In an investigation conducted jointly with the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, officials found in a medical evaluation that four children — all under the age of 10— tested positive for fentanyl, according to the post.
“Safeguarding the welfare of children in our community is our highest priority, and we are deeply grateful to our partners at DFPS for their vital collaboration in protecting these children,” police said in the post.
Police have not shared further details about the relationship between Green, Chevez Batres and the children or their conditions.
