Don Nelson enjoyed plenty of legendary moments throughout his coaching career.
The “Nellie Ball” creator earned numerous accolades as an NBA head coach, picking up 1,335 victories. Nelson coached the Dallas Mavericks from 1997-2005 while juggling general manager duties for the organization. He picked up 339 wins with the Mavericks, second-most in franchise history.
His time off the court was also intriguing. Some of his best moments included his clown-nosed meet-up with Shaquille O’Neal in 2001 and posing for photos with Dirk Nowitzki and Steve Nash in 1998.
