EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — A 35-year-old El Paso woman has been arrested and charged with murder after police said an investigation identified her as the person who reportedly shot and killed a Socorro man.
The El Paso Police Department identified the suspect as Erica Michelle Yarbrough, a resident of Central El Paso.
She is accused in the death of 38-year-old Stephen Matthew Delgado of Socorro.
Yarbrough was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility and is being held without bond, according to a police news release.
Police said officers were called to the 3700 block of Joe Battle at about 8:41 a.m. Aug. 5 for a reported “911 unknown problem.”
When officers arrived, they found a man dead inside a vehicle.

The department’s Crimes Against Persons Unit took over the investigation. Investigators determined foul play was involved, and an autopsy later led authorities to classify Delgado’s death as a homicide.
Detectives later identified Yarbrough as the person who shot Delgado, police said.
She was subsequently arrested and booked into the county detention facility.
Police did not disclose in the release what led to the shooting, a possible motive or the relationship, if any, between Yarbrough and Delgado.
