LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – The Building Professional Institute is bringing its annual conference to West Texas this month, with in-person and online sessions available to attendees.
The 2026 West Texas BPI conference runs Monday, Aug. 17 through Wednesday, Aug. 19. In-person sessions will be held at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center. Online sessions will be streamed live via Zoom.
Registration for in-person sessions closes Wednesday, Aug. 12. There will be no on-site registration. Online session registration remains open until the day each class begins.
The three-day program offers continuing education sessions in the following areas: Building Code, Fire Code, Residential Code, Plumbing Code, Mechanical Code, Electrical Code, Energy Code, Code Enforcement, Permit Technician, Texas Accessibility and various Special Topics.
Full-day sessions run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and include a one-hour on-site lunch. Full-day sessions earn 0.6 CEU/6.0 contact hours. Accessibility full-day sessions earn 0.8 CEU/8.0 contact hours.
Half-day sessions are offered in morning (8 a.m.–11:30 a.m.) and afternoon (12:30 p.m.–4 p.m.) formats. Half-day sessions earn 0.3 CEU/3.0 contact hours. Accessibility half-day sessions earn 0.4 CEU/4.0 contact hours.
In-person attendees do not need to check in upon arrival, though a registration desk will be available for questions. Attendance sign-in rosters will be circulated in each classroom and are required to receive a certificate. Coffee will be available by 7:30 a.m. Lunch will be provided on-site and parking is free. An Exhibitor Showcase will be available during breaks and lunch.
Virtual attendees will receive Zoom log-in instructions by email upon registration, along with reminder emails one week and one day before each session. The join link will be available 30 minutes before class begins. Online attendance time is monitored for certificate eligibility.
