EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) – At the end of August, the El Paso County Board of Commissioners will decide if a proposed Buc-ee’s is considered a “convenience store.”
The meeting is scheduled for August 27.
The Board of County Commissioners said they will hear Buc-ee’s appeal, and the public will have the chance to have their voices heard.
The Board said community members can submit written comments, attend the hearing or speak during the public comment portion of the hearing.
A company tied to Buc-ee’s is looking to build a location near I-25 and County Line Road.
This hearing only decides if Buc-ee’s is considered a convenience store and is therefore allowed in the C-1 zoning district under the county’s Land Development Code. This hearing will not approve or deny any construction.
In late June, the Planning and Community Development Director was unable to determine whether Buc-ee’s should be classified as a ‘Convenience Store’ under the county’s Land Development Code.
