SAN ANTONIO – Cornerstone Christian Elementary School starts classes today, with students in the remaining grades through 12th grade returning tomorrow.
School leaders say the Texas Education Freedom Account program has brought more than 100 new families to Cornerstone this school year across all grade levels, including many at the elementary school.
Andrea Freeman, assistant head of schools, says the program has also benefited current families and expanded access to resources.
“We will be accepting Texas Education Freedom Accounts this year which has brought over 100 new families to us, as well,” she said. “It’s been a blessing to some of our current families in attendance. it’s been a blessing to navigate but also new and different so trying to help our families utilize those resources, which are great for them.”
Cornerstone leaders say they can now serve more families who fall under the special education umbrella and provide additional opportunities for students from different backgrounds who want a private education.
