Starting Oct. 6, 113 T-Mobile workers in Irving face permanent job cuts as the company shuts down its virtual business sales division. Here’s what we know.
IRVING, Texas — T-Mobile is laying off 113 employees at its Irving office as it winds down its virtual business sales function at the facility.
The company disclosed the job cuts in an Aug. 7 letter sent to the Texas Workforce Commission.
The jobs are being eliminated from the T-Mobile Customer Experience Center located at 1300 E. Rochelle Blvd., Bldg. A, in Irving. According to the notice, affected workers have been or will be provided at least 60 days’ advance notice, with the first day of separation estimated for Oct. 6, 2026.

While the virtual business sales department will cease operations at the site, T-Mobile stated the facility itself will remain open. The workforce reductions are expected to be permanent, though employees are being encouraged to pursue open positions within the company. There is no union representing the workers at this location, and no bumping rights exist, according to T-Mobile.

In the letter, the company cited “changing business needs” as the reason for the decision.
The layoff notice comes shortly after T-Mobile released its second-quarter earnings report on July 23, 2026. In that financial release, T-Mobile CEO Srini Gopalan highlighted the company’s financial momentum.
“Q2 marked another strong quarter of execution as we continued making meaningful progress toward our ambitious 2026 and 2027 objectives,” Gopalan said.
For the second quarter, T-Mobile reported overall revenue of $22.79 billion; service revenues grew 9% year-over-year to $19 billion.
