El Paso job fair to match veterans with employers
EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The Workforce Solutions Borderplex will host its annual “Red, White, and You” hiring event next Thursday, Nov. 13.
The hiring event will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Armed Forces Reserve Center at 11701 Montana Ave.
Prior entry for military veterans and active-duty service members and dependents will be at 9 a.m., and doors will open for all at 10 a.m.
The event is part of a coordinated statewide effort to connect veterans, transitioning service members, and military spouses with employers who are ready to hire now, especially with the ongoing government shutdown.
More than 30 employers are expected to participate in the hiring event and will be representing high-demand industries such as healthcare, defense, logistics, transportation, IT/cybersecurity, government, skilled trades, customer service, and advanced manufacturing, according to the non-profit.
The event will also include same-day hiring opportunities, resume and job-search workshops, a free professional headshot station, veteran-ready employers, benefits specialists, and free transportation from WSB’s Military Center at Fort Bliss.
“Serving the region that includes Fort Bliss, the second-largest military installation in the country, this event is one of the most impactful hiring opportunities of the year for the Borderplex community.”
