Thai Soon started serving the Dallas area in 1987, when it was created by Soontaree Chanchaisri. It was the first Thai Vegetarian restaurant in Dallas on Lower Greenville, and moved to Richardson after 15 successful years. Ever since 2001, Thai Soon has served the Richardson community.

Now, after nearly 40 years of service to DFW, they’ll be closing due to recent struggles to make rent. Thai Soon’s last day in business will be Aug. 23. The restaurant will also be open on Sundays until they close for good.
“I sincerely have enjoyed and love getting to know each one of you throughout the years,” Owner Ararin “Irean” Wongchingchai said. “The goal was always to bring healthy fresh ingredients to serve our community. And I believe we did that. Those of you who know me, know that this has been the most difficult decision of my life. I will continue to seek other avenues that will allow me to share my Ma’s cuisines. Thank you all for your love and support. Until then, see you Soon…”
