AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) — A motorcyclist died after a crash involving a tractor-trailer in Amarillo.
The crash happened about 11 a.m. Wednesday near South Loop 335 and South Washington Street.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the motorcycle was traveling north on Washington Street while the tractor-trailer was traveling south. The truck was turning left onto the South Loop 335 access road when the motorcycle struck its right side.
The motorcyclist was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries and was later pronounced dead.
Traffic was backed up on Washington Street, and motorists were asked to avoid the area.
