EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/ CBS4) — One person is dead following a motorcycle crash Wednesday morning in Northeast El Paso.

According to the El Paso Police Department, 51-year-old Kevin Eugene Louis from Northeast El Paso was pronounced dead at the scene at around 3:11 a.m. after the 2006 Honda VTX 1300 motorcycle he was riding crashed into a tree at the 9500 block of Railroad Drive, near Falcon Avenue.

EPPD’s Special Traffic Investigation Unit looked into the single-vehicle crash and appears to have determined that Louis went off the road during a curve, hit a rocky landscape area before crashing into the tree and being thrown from the bike.

The crash remains under investigation.

According to EPPD numbers, this is the 34th traffic death of 2026, compared to 37 at this same time in 2025.
