British Board Game Night
Fancy a game? Gather your mates for British Board Game Night on Thursday, Aug. 13 from 5–11 p.m. at The Londoner. Choose from a selection of classic board games, grab a table, and enjoy a casual night of friendly competition and good company. Cheers to a proper game night!
Summer Music Series
Settle into a laid-back summer evening with live music at the Summer Music Series on Friday, Aug. 14 from 6–8 p.m. at Home Plate at Texas Rangers Golf Club. This week’s featured artist is Adysen Malek, bringing live music while Home Plate serves up food and beverage specials throughout the evening.
There’s no cover charge, and walk-ins are welcome as space allows, but advance registration is encouraged. RSVP by calling (817) 575-8299.
Build Your Own Bee Hotel
Give your backyard a buzz of activity at Build Your Own Bee Hotel on Saturday, Aug. 15 from 2–4 p.m. at George W. Hawkes Downtown Library. Participants will learn how habitat loss affects native bees and other wildlife before creating their own bee hotel to take home and add to their North Texas yard.
Good Grounds Book Club
Bring whatever you’re reading and join fellow book lovers for Good Grounds Book Club on Wednesday, Aug. 19 from 11 a.m.–12 p.m. at Woodland West Branch Library. This relaxed “choose your own book” discussion group lets you read whatever interests you, then come share your thoughts and discover new recommendations. Grab a cup of coffee, talk books, and connect with other avid readers. All readers are welcome!
Create a Magic Wand at Storytime
Let imaginations take flight at Create a Magic Wand at Storytime on Wednesday, Aug. 19 at 11 a.m. at the Arlington Museum of Art. Children will enjoy a magical storytime before creating their very own wand to take home, combining creativity, self-expression, and a love of reading. The event is free, but registration is required.
