Fort Worth’s Waterside Shopping Center has lost another restaurant tenant.
The Rim restaurant that served “food with soul” in a funky rustic setting, closed for good on July 26.
A sign posted to their door states, “It is with a heavy heart that we announce the closure of this location.” The restaurant encouraged customers to continue eating with them at The Rim’s flagship location in Burleson.
The reason for closure is unknown, and the only statement released from the restaurant was the paper sign posted to the door.

The Rim opened in Burleson in 2018, and then the Fort Worth location followed in 2021. It was founded by Brent Johnson with chef Keith Hicks, who served a popular chicken-and-waffles brunch.
California-based Xperience Restaurant Group bought the Rim restaurants, along with Johnson’s Rio Mambo restaurants, in 2023. All four Rio Mambo locations in Fort Worth, Colleyville, Burleson and Weatherford remain.
The Rim’s Waterside closure also follows the announcement that Piattello Italian Kitchen is leaving the shopping center. The Italian restaurant, founded by Fort Worth chef Marcus Palsay, will find a new home in The Shops at Clearfork. It will be the first and only locally-owned restaurant in the outdoor mall.
