The Philanthropy in Fashion Houston Best Dressed honorees represent a cross section of backgrounds, interests and ages with two unifying characteristics. Each has an altruistic interest in contributing to the Bayou City and each has a defining style. The philanthropic femmes will be saluted on September 15 at a Post Oak Hotel luncheon benefiting March of Dimes.

In this new PaperCity series, we are profiling each of the 2026 Houston Best Dressed honorees leading up to the PaperCity Philanthropy in Fashion Houston Best Dressed Luncheon. Next up: First-time Best Dressed honoree Myrtle Jones.

“I’ve never been a part of any kind of existence where giving didn’t happen,” Jones says. “It’s just not possible because it’s not a part of who I am.”

Jones is the vice president of tax at Superior Energy Services, where she leads the company’s tax strategy and operations. Prior to this role, she served as senior vice president of tax at Halliburton Company, overseeing tax strategy across more than 70 countries. Although she briefly retired in 2025, her passion for the profession and for leadership quickly brought her back to work. All this while raising three children and welcoming two grandchildren into her busy world.

Just as impressive as Myrtle Jones’ professional accomplishments are her deep and enduring commitments to philanthropy. Jones has served on numerous nonprofit boards and has chaired major fundraising luncheons and galas, helping raise significant support for organizations that include Houston’s Stages Theatre, Hope Farms and Houston Area Urban League.
