Several residents were displaced Wednesday night due to a fire that spread through an apartment’s walls, officials say.
The fire was reported around 8:12 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 12, at an apartment complex located at 5819 Sandhurst Lane, according to a press release from the Dallas Fire Department.
Firefighters reported lots of smoke coming from the gables of the two-story building, the press release states. During an offensive attack, firefighters found flames in the walls of the apartment complex, officials said. After a thorough check, the fire was declared extinguished around 9:20 p.m., the release states.
No one was injured; however, several people were displaced, officials said. While management worked to get them other apartments, the American Red Cross responded to provide additional assistance, according to the release.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, police said.
