CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Corpus Christi City Council approved upgrades this week for the city’s Oso and Greenwood wastewater treatment plants.
The projects include two emergency backup generators and major flood mitigation improvements designed to keep the plants operating during extreme weather events, including hurricanes and tropical storms.

Construction at the Greenwood facility is expected to begin in April 2028 and wrap up by November 2029.
Work at the Oso facility is expected to start in September 2028 and take about a year to complete.
