COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office (EPSO) announced the Second Annual Guns & Hoses City Slickers Rodeo back in late June raised over $40,000 for local nonprofit organizations!
EPSO said the rodeo raised $40,463.14, which surpasses last year’s charitable contribution and continues the growing tradition of supporting organizations supporting first responders, military members and the Pikes Peak region. This year’s event welcomed about 3,000 attendees.
Through sponsors, participants, volunteers and attendees, EPSO said the event generated $77,698.68 in revenue and donations!
After operating expenses, the $40,000 raised will be distributed among three organizations, according to EPSO:
Colorado Springs Firefighters Foundation: $16,705.26Pikes Peak Law Enforcement Memorial Fund: $12,844.21Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo Foundation: $10,913.67
Last year’s rodeo raised nearly $36,000 and combined with this year’s contribution, EPSO said the event has now donated over $76,000 to local nonprofit organizations during its first two years.
