Spirit Halloween is opening a Corpus Christi store — and yes, it’s only August

It may still feel like the middle of summer in South Texas, but Spirit Halloween is already preparing to open its doors.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas —  It’s August. It’s hot. School just started. Naturally, it’s time for Halloween.

Spirit Halloween is preparing to open a seasonal store in Corpus Christi, with an “Opening Soon” sign now posted outside a vacant storefront at 5625-B.

While South Texans are still dealing with near-triple-digit temperatures, Spirit Halloween is getting ready to bring out the costumes, skeletons, decorations and everything else that comes with spooky season.

The sign also says the store is hiring, meaning preparations are underway to bring the temporary Halloween shop to life.

An exact opening date was not listed on the sign. The store will be located along SPID, next to Spec’s Wines, Spirits & Finer Foods and Chuck E. Cheese.

So, ready or not, spooky season is creeping into Corpus Christi — even if the weather still screams summer.
