DALLAS COUNTY, Ala. (WSFA) – A Selma woman was killed, and three other people were injured in a two-vehicle crash in Dallas County Saturday afternoon, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
State Troopers say 34-year-old Taylor Layne Owens Averette was fatally injured when the vehicle she was riding as a passenger in was struck by another car on U.S. 80.
Responders pronounced Averette dead at the scene.
The vehicle’s driver and two passengers in the other vehicle, were taken to an area hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
The crash happened near mile marker 90, about four mile east of Selma.
ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division is investigating the cause of the crash.
