SAN ANTONIO – A woman was rescued from a wrecked vehicle after a violent overnight crash on the Northeast Side left her and the driver critically injured.
Emergency crews were called out shortly after 1:30 a.m. Friday to Rittiman Road near Thornwood.
There they found the driver on the ground outside the vehicle while the woman was trapped inside.
Crews worked to free the woman from the wreckage before she and the driver were taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Investigators say the driver lost control, jumped a curb, crashed through a chain-link fence and slammed into a tree.
