EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The clock has officially begun to count down for the Sun City’s best happy hour: the 13th annual El Paso Wine & Food Festival!
The delicious event will be from 5 to 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 6, and from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7, in Downtown El Paso. This year’s theme is “A Toast to World Peace”.
On Friday, there will be a Chef Showdown with 12 teams from the Culinary Institute by Southwest University competing to create the “perfect dish” that pairs with craft beers and premium wines!
The fun doesn’t stop there, as on Saturday, experience the ultimate wine and food pairing at the Grand Tasting Event. You and your friends will have the opportunity to taste over 400 wines from across the globe, paired with great bites from El Paso restaurants.
Additionally, you can sip on your wine as you shop local with an art exhibition!
On Thursday, Aug. 13, participants had a sneak peek at what’s to come during the Wine Fest Kickoff event. Guests kicked their feet back and enjoyed a sample of wines, as well as snacked on some hors d’oeuvres.

General admission for the Grand Tasting is $125 per person, and for the Chef Showdown it’s $75. VIP tickets are also available. There are also weekend passes and group packages that will fit your party!
“This is the only wine festival that brings in wines from all around the world. These are wines that you may never see in a restaurant, even. So, please come and really explore and expand your palate for wine tasting at El Paso Wine Fest,” Mark Mathis, a committee member of the festival by the Rotary Club of El Paso, said.
All proceeds from the festival will support charities of the Rotary Club of El Paso, such as the Rotacare Free Medical Clinic that happens every week, Mathis said.
