All Maman shops are designed in a French farmhouse style and sell espresso drinks, croissants, quiches and chocolate chip cookies. Co-founder Elisa Marshall is a wedding planner-turned-restaurateur, and her Maman shops are known for their dainty blue tea cups and convivial atmosphere, like they’re throwing ladies-who-lunch parties every day, but here, you can bring your toddler. Maman means “mother” in French.

Maman opened in New York City in 2014 and the company got a quick jolt when The New York Times and Oprah’s Favorite Things called out its Nutty Chocolate Chip Cookies as decadent treats.

But it was the collaboration with Martha Stewart last year that catapulted the company into a new level of chic.

“She has been the hugest inspiration for everything we do,” Marshall said in a Dallas Morning News interview in April, as the company planned to open as many as 10 Maman shops across North Texas.

Stewart still leaves her mark at Maman, with her seal of approval on a handful of new menu items including an heirloom tomato and burrata bowl, Greek salad sandwich and salted caramel chocolate chip cookie.

The new Plano shop is the third in Texas, following openings in University Park and Dallas’ Lakewood area. Coming next are Mamans in East Dallas’ Casa Linda, in the Design District and on the edge of Old East Dallas, near Central Expressway and North Haskell Avenue.

The company is expanding quickly in D-FW since the first Maman debuted in Texas less than a year ago. The restaurants use one central kitchen in Dallas where cookie dough and croissants are made, then delivered to each location. This expansion approach has become popular in Dallas as companies strategize ways to grow outside their home base.

Marshall hopes each Maman feels like “a one-off neighborhood coffee shop,” even as it has grown to over 50 locations. “I never created this to be a chain,” Marshall said in April.

The Plano shop features several items sold only in Texas, including a salted caramel pecan pie roll and a Lone Star cinnamon bun.

Maman is at 7200 Bishop Road, Suite D, Plano. It opened Aug. 7, 2026.
