The body found along the banks of Buffalo Bayou in downtown Houston last week was that of a 73-year-old man who had been missing for nearly two weeks, according to a search and rescue group.
Carl Mueller, who also went by Clint, was identified as the person who was found dead near the bayou in the 2200 block of Nance Street on Tuesday, according to the nonprofit Texas EquuSearch organization. Mueller was last seen near the 1400 block of Saint Joseph Parkway in downtown Houston on July 30, EquuSearch said.
“Our condolences go out to the family of Carl Clint Mueller during this difficult and unexpected time,” Texas EquuSearch wrote online. “Please keep them in your prayers.”
Mueller’s daughter, who goes by Lyssa Rose on Facebook, said she was searching for answers Sunday morning and struggling to process the news.
“Who did this?” she wrote on Facebook. “Why? Why did this have to happen to him? Why did I have to lose my dad this way? I never imagined I would have to learn how to live without my father this soon. I’m completely at a loss for words. This doesn’t feel real, and I don’t know when it will.”
She asked for prayers in her post, which included several pictures of her father.
“Dad, I love you,” she wrote. “I hope you knew how much you meant to me. I wish I had more time. I wish I could hear your voice, hug you, and tell you one more time that I love you. Until we meet again, Dad. I’ll carry you with me for the rest of my life.”
