Ethan Salas is more than meeting the challenge at Triple-A El Paso.

The 20-year-old catcher hit his third homer, doubled and drove in four runs in a 13-7 loss on Sunday to visiting Salt Lake.

Salas also walked to lift his batting line to .377/.453/.698 through 14 games. He has driven in 20 runs, scored 10 and swiped a bag.

Salas was promoted after hitting seven homers in 72 games (.286/.361/.417) to start the year at Double-A San Antonio.

First baseman Nick Pratto (.753 OPS) drove in two runs on his 10th homer.

Second baseman Marcos Castañon (.793 OPS) went 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored.

Left-hander JP Sears (4-4, 8.40 ERA) allowed five runs in 2 ⅓ innings in relief to take the loss.

Right-hander JP France (4.28 ERA) allowed five runs—three earned—in 1 ⅔ innings.

El Paso is 49-70.

Quad Cities 5, TinCaps 2 (8): RHP Bryan Balzer (4.45 ERA) struck out 10 and allowed one hit and four walks over five shutout innings in the start. RF Conner Westenburg (.343 OPS) had two hits. 1B Luke Cantwell (.895 OPS) and DH Carlos Rodriguez (.645 OPS) each had a double.

Quad Cities 4, TinCaps 3: RHP Abraham Parra (5-7, 5.92 ERA) allowed four runs—two earned—in 6 ⅓ innings in the loss. Rodriguez went 2-for-4 with a run scored. SS Justin DeCriscio (.759 OPS) went 1-for-3 with two RBIs and a walk.

Inland Empire 11, Storm 7: 3B Nu’u Contrades (.973 OPS) went 3-for-5 with his second homer and two RBIs. 2B Joe Tiroly (.936 OPS) went 3-for-5 with a double and two RBIs. RF Jesmaylin Arias (.675 OPS) went 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI and two runs.
