LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – The South Plains can expect another week of intense heat and dry conditions as a stubborn high-pressure remains anchored just to the east. High temperatures are forecast to approach 105° in areas off the Caprock on Tuesday and Wednesday, bringing some of the hottest conditions of the season.

While most of the region will remain dry, a few isolated storms will be possible Monday evening.
The oppressive heat is expected to persist through midweek before the ridge begins to shift. High temperatures on the Caprock will hover in the mid to upper 90s, while communities just east of the escarpment will regularly climb into the triple digits.
