Barbara Campos is a bilingual multimedia journalist for Spectrum News 1 Texas.
Born and raised in the South Texas border town of Laredo, Barbara developed a passion for journalism through her binational upbringing.
After graduating from the University of Texas at San Antonio, Barbara began her career as a morning anchor and multimedia journalist at KGNS News in her hometown. There, she anchored live newscasts and helped produce feature stories focused on immigration and amplifying community voices.
Barbara later joined Telemundo Austin as a multimedia journalist, covering politics, culture, entertainment, and the issues shaping communities across Texas. Now based in Houston, she is excited to continue telling the stories that matter most to Texans as part of the Spectrum News 1 team.
When she’s not reporting, Barbara enjoys exploring local coffee shops.
