Later this year, H-E-B is poised to kickstart a nearly month-long construction project revitalizing its Mueller store, according to project filings registered with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation on August 14. Located at 1801 E. 51st St., Austin, TX 78723, the “fresh initiative” renovation project entails an approximately 345-square-foot store overhaul to the tune of an estimated $724,260.
Work is expected to begin around November 30, 2026 and run through December 21, 2026. TDLR filings are preliminary estimates and both project costs and timelines are subject to change.
H-E-B’s Fresh Initiative program encompasses minor interior store remodels alongside equipment upgrades. Those tweaks can include expanded hot-food bars, revamped grab-and-go prepared meal spaces, TLC to H-E-B’s deli departments and more Meal Simple product offerings.
It’s the latest in a series of Fresh Initiative improvements slated in and around the Austin area. Back in early June, H-E-B registered nearly a dozen construction projects with TDLR for alterations to several Austin-area, San Antonio, Houston, Corpus Christi, Georgetown, Leander, Kingwood, Killeen and Kerrville stores.
Looking statewide, H-E-B registered 10 filings earlier this month for construction projects in Central, North and South Texas amounting to $5.2 million.
