Taylor Sheridan has another hit on his hands in “Lioness” season 3.
The Paramount+ series premiered its third season on Aug. 2 and will release weekly episodes until Sept. 20. The show was filmed primarily in Fort Worth and across the larger Metroplex area.
“Lioness” season 3 drew 7.1 million viewers in its first week of streaming, which is higher than the season 2 debut back in 2024, according to Paramount.
Pointing to Nielsen data, Paramount said “Lioness” ranked as the second most-watched streaming original series in the U.S. during the week of Aug. 2-8. The show also saw strong reaction on social media, scoring 6.9 millions views between Aug. 2-4.

“Lioness” is another notch in Paramount+’s ratings belt this year in regard to Sheridan-related productions.
In March, the Sheridan-created “The Madison” reach 8 million views globally in 10 days. The Michelle Pfeiffer-led show is Sheridan’s most-watched series launch of his career.
“Yellowstone” spinoff “Dutton Ranch” scored 12.9 million viewers globally in its first week, which was the biggest original series launch ever for Paramount+. Sheridan is only involved in “Dutton Ranch” as an executive producer.
“Lioness” stars Zoe Saldaña, Nicole Kidman, Morgan Freeman, Laysla De Oliveira, Genesis Rodriguez, Michael Kelly, Dave Annable, LaMonica Garrett, James Jordan, Ian Bohen, Jill Wagner, Austin Hébert, Jonah Wharton, Thad Luckinbill and Hannah Love Lanier.
