The life and legacy of longtime Port Aransas artist Flint Reed will be honored with a veterans’ military honors service.
The service will be held at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery, located at 9974 IH-37 in Corpus Christi, at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 21.
Reed spent years painting Coastal Bend beaches, marshes and wildlife while operating a gallery in Port Aransas with his wife, Jill.
Reed’s work attracted national and international recognition, including write-ups in several world-renowned art publications and having a painting selected by President George W. and Laura Bush for their permanent White House Collection in 2003.
