Final list: 47 candidates file for Corpus Christi mayor, City Council in Nov. 3 election

The filing deadline has passed, locking in the field of candidates seeking the mayor’s office, three at-large seats and five City Council district seats.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The field is set for Corpus Christi’s Nov. 3 general election, with 47 candidates filing to run for mayor or City Council before Monday’s deadline.

The City of Corpus Christi’s final candidate list, dated Aug. 18, includes 10 candidates for mayor, 15 for the three at-large City Council seats and 22 candidates across Districts 1 through 5.

Corpus Christi voters will elect a mayor and eight City Council members — three at-large representatives and one representative from each of the city’s five council districts — for the 2026-2028 term. The filing period closed at 5 p.m. Monday, Aug. 17.
