The project called, East Austin 7th Street Hotel, will be located at 1612 E. 7th St., Austin, TX 78702, which is near several homes and businesses in the area, per Google Maps. Biron Patel who represents the owners of the project, BCP-ESK Concho, LP told MySA that the project will be a five-story AC Hotel by Marriott with 130 rooms, a pool, meeting space and a bar/restaurant concept on the first floor.

Patel confirmed the project is still in its drawing phases and the homes at the proposed site have not yet been demolished. Patel said the company aims to submit drawings for permit review to the City of Austin after Labor Day, which is why the recently filed paperwork with TDLR was part of the process.

Plans for the property have been in the works for years for a half-acre lot at 1604, 1606, 1610 and 1612 E. Seventh St., the Austin American-Statesman reported. At the time, homes were located at 1610 and 1612 E. Seventh St., that must be removed to begin work on the hotel.

In 2019, demolition plans were filed for one family homes between 1612 E. Seventh St. and 1603 E. Seventh St., but were alerted in 2022, according to city permit documents. In February 2024, plans for a new ground-up construction of a small hotel were resubmitted to the city after its original 2021 construction plans expired.

Although the TDLR says construction is expected to begin in December, Patel estimates that the project will break ground around the second quarter of 2027. Construction on the hotel is be finished by the end of December 2030, per the TDLR.

All TDLR filings are subject to change at any time.
